New York Jets NFL Playoff, Super Bowl history

Thursday, January 6th, 2011

The New York Jets have recently qualified for the playoffs for the 14th time in the history of their franchise. While the franchise has been in existence since the year 1960, the majority of the team’s playoff appearances have been in the last two decades.

The Jets play the Indianapolis Colts Saturday and are favorites in NFL Betting.

The Jets have qualified for the playoffs 6 times since the beginning of the 21st century and have become one of the best teams in the NFL on the a regular basis. While they have really turned things around as of late, they have not been able to have the type of success in the playoffs that they’d hope for.

It has been more than 40 years since the Jets last made their way to the Super Bowl. That Super Bowl appearance actually came in the times of the AFL. The Jets managed to win the AFL and thus qualified for the Super Bowl against the winners of the NFL Championship.

The Jets were led to Super Bowl III by the famous Joe Namath. The team managed to win the Super Bowl behind Namath in what is one of the classic football games of all time.

After that time the fans of the Jets had little to cheer for. They did not make the playoffs at all in the 1970s, but did manage to turn things around in the 1980’s. The Jets qualified for the playoffs 4 times in the 1980s and left a foundation for the team to build up to what it is today.

Weekend Clash Between New York Jets And Houston Texans

Thursday, November 18th, 2010

This weekend, the Houston Texans will head to New York to take on the Jets. Against the Jets, The Texans find their team in a must win situation. Even though they now have a subpar record of 4-5, the Texans started off the season strong. They will need to win out for the rest of the season to have a solid chance at the playoffs, if they do not win this week.

The total sits at 45.5. In NFL Betting, the Jets are the 7-point favorites across all major NFL betting lines.

At this point, the Jets have very little to worry about. On both sides of the ball, they are 7-2 on the season and they have things working well. Sanchez has demonstrated the ability to step up the passing game this season, while it is well known that they rely heavily on the running game. As they surrender more than 300 yards in the air per game, this will be a key against the Texans this week.

As of late, the Jets have dominated the series between these two teams. The Jets have won every game in their last 4 matchups against each other. While the Texans have managed just 10 points a game over that stretch, they have averaged nearly 25 points a game. If they hope to hang tough, the Texans will need to turn things around.

Losing 4 of their last 5, the Texans are sliding. However, they do have some hope. On the road, the Texans have shown the ability to win. Of their last 6 road games, they have won 4. The only question is whether or not the defense will step up, as this team has all of the tools.

Cleveland Browns: NFL Season Preview

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

To find something to bring success to Cleveland, the Cleveland Browns are trying desperately. Last year, they were only able to win 4 games and changes need to be made. Unfortunately, Jake Delhomme’s addition may have been more desperate than productive.

For the Panthers, NFL betting star, Delhomme was once a solid quarterback. He was good enough to win games if the right pieces were around him, although he was never seen as a guy that would carry the squad through the season. in the recent past in Carolina, he was not able to continue in the pattern. In hopes that he would bring some veteran leadership to Cleveland, the Browns signed him, but his signing might have been a bit of a stretch.

Jerome Harrison will lead the Running game out of Washington State. For several years now, Harrison has been in the league, but previous to last season he had only compiled a little more than 400 rushing yards in his career. Last year, he did manage to rush for almost 900 yards, but he is far from a franchise back at this point.

This year, the Browns will probably be looking to use as a rebuilding year rather than a season to make a run at the playoffs. To compete in a division with so many strong teams, they simply do not have the necessary talent.

In the first several picks of the NFL Draft for the Cleveland Browns, the 2010 season will probably result in another draft pick.
