Atlanta Falcons Will Take On New Orleans Saints

Monday, December 27th, 2010

On Monday Night Football action the Atlanta Falcons will clash with the New Orleans Saints.

The Saints need a win in this game to get more momentum entering the playoffs as they lost last week in opposition to the Ravens. On the season the Falcons are now 12-2. All through the playoffs, a win in this game would likely give them home field benefit. On the season the Saints are 10-4.

The over/under for the game is set at 48.5 and in this game the Falcons will be the three point favorites in football betting odds.

The Falcons look like a team that will continue to roll into the playoffs as they are on fire at this moment. They have not lost a game on the road all season as they have now won 8 games in a row overall. As they have outscored their opponents by 108 points on the season, they have been dominant in every sense of the word.

It will be the Saints, who can go into Atlanta on the road and take the victory. On the road they have won 14 of their last 17 games. On the road their success largely is attributed to the play of Drew Brees. In order to puts his team in a position to win each week, Brees doesn’t make many mistakes.

In this game the Falcons will need to try to eliminate the running game all together for the Saints. Brees may not be able to carry the whole team by himself even as he is a top flight quarterback. Brees will be forced to carry the squad on his own if the Falcons can shut down the running game.

San Francisco 49ers take on Green Bay Packers

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010

The San Francisco 49ers will take on the Green Bay Packers this weekend (1:00 PM FOX).

The Packers will be 9-point favorites in this game in NFL Week 13 football betting Odds. The over/under for the game is off.

Both of these teams are coming off of losses. The 49ers are now 3-7 SU on the season while the Packers are 7-4 SU.

The Packers have been solid this year, but they seem to be unable to get things rolling with consistency. They have outscored their opponents by 103 points on the season, but they are still only second in the NFC North division. This game should be a winnable game for the Packers though. This could be a good time for them to turn things back around in the right direction.

The 49ers looked like they were starting to turn things around, but they were dominated by Tampa Bay last week. They were unable to put any points on the board and surrendered 21 points to the Bucs. The Packers have an even better defense than the Bucs in most aspects and the 49ers will have difficulty scoring if they can’t make some changes in their game plan.

This game will come down to Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers has not been the same quarterback that he was a year ago. He has turned the ball over much more frequently this season. If he can protect the football the Packers should easily walk away with this game. The 49ers simply are not good enough to keep up with the Packers on a good day.

NFL – Chicago Bears visit Buffalo Bills – Preview

Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010

This weekend, the Chicago Bears will head to Buffalo to take on the Bills. At this point in the season, these two teams have very different records; they do have one thing in common: Both teams have been struggling recently. In this matchup, the Bills will be the three point underdogs in football betting at home. At 40, sits the total for the game.

The Bears seem to be slipping from where they were a few weeks ago, although they have managed a 4-3 record on the season. The team seems as though the offense is slowing down a bit, although it maintains a stellar defense.

Between these teams, they have split the series, in the last 4 matchups. In terms of statistics, the Bears have actually managed to dominate the overall series, but somehow the Bills have managed to pull out 2 wins in the last 4 games against the Bears.

The rush defense of the Bills will be one of the keys to this game. The Bills absolutely cannot stop the run, and that is the reason why they struggled so much it win games. While the Bills allow almost 100 yards a game more, the Bears only allow 89 yards per game. on the ground this season, the Bills have surrendered 188.7 yards per game.

If the Bears can get something going against the Bills it would be very helpful, although they don’t have a tremendous running attack. In the pocket, Jay Cutler needs more time and if they running game are working the Bears may be able to buy Cutler more time through the play-action pass.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Denver Broncos – Review – NFL

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

The Pittsburgh Steelers got a good look at the players who will be holding down the fort for Ben Roethlisberger during the quarterback’s season-opening suspension, in their 34-17 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday. For Big Ben’s fast return, the results may leave the Steelers pining. Football betting fans are keen on this matchup between Steelers and Broncos.

Roethlisberger was pulled early to give his back-ups some much-needed work, while he started the game. Byron Leftwich went 0-4 in limited play and Leftwich’s presumptive backup, the presumptive starter during Roethlisberger’s absence, Dennis Dixon, went 9-16 with two interceptions. Batch did manage to go 3-4 with a touchdown, for now the third string quarterback, but also threw an interception.

After seeing starter Kyle Orton go down after a controversial hit by Steelers linebacker James Harrison, the Broncos almost had their own quarterback issues. However, Orton returned on the next series, after sitting out a play. Tim Tebow replaced him later. Tebow had a mixed game, going 5-10 with an interception and a touchdown, who had a mixed game, going 5-10 with an interception and a touchdown

Than Denver’s, Pittsburgh’s offense proved more productive, outdoing the Broncos in first downs, total yards, total plays, and time of possession. However, on returning the Broncos for touchdowns, they were able to capitalize on two of the three Steelers’ interceptions and gained an advantage with penalties, committing only eight for 67 yards while the Steelers committed 11 for 93 yards.

New York Giants – NFL Season – Preview

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

For the NFC coming into 2010, the New York Giants are the wildcard. Giants came out blazing, last year. They were also very popular in football betting odds. They looked as though they were well on their way towards a playoff run and they won their first 5 games. Unfortunately, for the Giants, their fortunes changed and they ran into the Saints.

The Giants were never able to rebound and they went on to lose 4 games in a row. On the season, the team finished with a poor record of 8-8. While scoring less than 10 points, their last two games were blowouts in which they surrendered 40 points or more.

Eli Manning will be one of the big factors in the success of the team. Last season when Manning made a lot of turnovers, the Giants’ losses came often. Manning actually put together a great season in 2009 and he has all of the tools. This year however, Manning will need to limit his turnovers, or the Giants may not be able to step to the next level.

Obviously, coming into 2010 the defense will be a question as well. During the season, there are a few questions surrounding the resilience of the Giants, after giving up 40 or more points 5 times. It seemed that when the opponents started rolling the Giants had no method to stop them, although the Giants did show stretches of good play on defense. As a play of a championship caliber team, it doesn’t sound like the same.

In 2010, the Giants will decide their own fate. They will be a contender, if they can buckle down and play tough.
