NFL – Chicago Bears visit Buffalo Bills – Preview

Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010

This weekend, the Chicago Bears will head to Buffalo to take on the Bills. At this point in the season, these two teams have very different records; they do have one thing in common: Both teams have been struggling recently. In this matchup, the Bills will be the three point underdogs in football betting at home. At 40, sits the total for the game.

The Bears seem to be slipping from where they were a few weeks ago, although they have managed a 4-3 record on the season. The team seems as though the offense is slowing down a bit, although it maintains a stellar defense.

Between these teams, they have split the series, in the last 4 matchups. In terms of statistics, the Bears have actually managed to dominate the overall series, but somehow the Bills have managed to pull out 2 wins in the last 4 games against the Bears.

The rush defense of the Bills will be one of the keys to this game. The Bills absolutely cannot stop the run, and that is the reason why they struggled so much it win games. While the Bills allow almost 100 yards a game more, the Bears only allow 89 yards per game. on the ground this season, the Bills have surrendered 188.7 yards per game.

If the Bears can get something going against the Bills it would be very helpful, although they don’t have a tremendous running attack. In the pocket, Jay Cutler needs more time and if they running game are working the Bears may be able to buy Cutler more time through the play-action pass.

Buffalo Bills at Baltimore Ravens – Preview – NFL

Friday, October 22nd, 2010

This Sunday, the Buffalo Bills will head to Baltimore to take on the Ravens. As the Ravens have looked like one of the best team in the NFL, this matchup certainly looks lopsided. Meanwhile, in the NFL, the Bills have looked like one of the worst teams. In a game with a total of 38, the Ravens will be the 14-point favorites and the NFL odds heavily on their side.

Last week against the Patriots, the Ravens suffered a tough overtime loss. They will certainly be looking to prove something, although they will still be considered one of the top teams in the league. Recently, they have been unbeatable at home, winning their last 5 and they will have a certain advantage over Buffalo in that aspect.

Recently, against the Bills, they have been great at home, they have struggled. Over recent years, the Bills have been far from a powerhouse, yet they have still managed to take 4 of the last 6 games against the Ravens.

The Bills, in their offense need some spark. 15 points a game was managed to score by them. They will need something to change if they hope to find success and they will be taking on one of the best defenses in the league this week. For the Bills though, the offensive end is not the only struggle.

For Buffalo, the defense has been terrible. To this point in the season, they have surrendered a whopping 32 points per game. The Ravens do have weapons that could take advantage of Buffalo, although they haven’t been an offensive juggernaut to this point.

NFL minicamps: Buffalo Bills

Saturday, July 24th, 2010

The Buffalo Bills have made big news at their recent minicamps as their head coach has made some surprising announcements concerning one of the major positions.

Chan Gailey, the head coach for the Buffalo Bills, has announced that there will be a wide open battle for the starting quarterback position for the Buffalo Bills. This sort of news is exciting, but also surprising. It is not very often that a coach closes all past doors and starts the quarterbacks on level ground entering into the season. There are many experts that feel that some of the candidates will have the upper hand on others, but Gailey has reiterated that there will be no favorite coming into the off season for the starting job.

Though the quarterback controversy is a big deal, it is not all of the hype going into the offseason. One of the biggest things that brought attention during minicamps was the play of first round draft pick C.J. Spiller. Spiller is a running back out of Clemson that is known for his tremendous speed on the field.

Spiller has not disappointed this offseason with his speed. His 40 yard dash time for the NFL Draft was the fastest among running backs but many experts feel that he is even faster in relation to his competition on the field.

He has really displayed that speed at minicamp and he will be a big help for whatever quarterback ends up winning the battle. He can carry the ball and is also an option out of the backfield as a receiver. That versatility will help the new quarterback.
